María Eugenia Blasco Rodellar, a Partner of the Immigration and International Mobility area at AGM Abogados, has been appointed as the Co-Director of the AGM Abogados offices in Madrid, a position she will hold together with the current office Director, Julio Rocafull Rodríguez.
María Eugenia studied a Bachelor Degree in Law at Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). During her work placement at an association which helped immigrants, she discovered nearly by chance the passionate world of Immigration Law, which immediately enthralled her and, after working 20 years in this area, she still loves it.
In 2013, although she continued for a few more years as vice-president of that association, she joined AGM Abogados by starting the Immigration Department at the firm and specialised in Spanish Law 14/2013; since then, has obtained numerous residence permits for investors, entrepreneurs and qualified professionals. Since 2014, she has also been coordinating the firm’s Asian Desk in connection with the firm’s partners in Asia and, more recently, she has also been part of the firm’s Latam Desk.
She is currently studying for an MBA at EADA Business School with the aim of continuing to improve her skills in order to provide a better service to her clients.
Now, as the new Co-Director of the Madrid office, María Eugenia will provide a strategic vision with a strong international component and innovative thinking to meet the consolidation and growth objectives of the Madrid office and the AGM Group.
“I accept the position to provide support to my fellow partners in Madrid, hand in hand with my partner and Co-Director Julio Rocafull, contributing a female leadership to the firm that brings an empathetic and innovative view to reinforce the growth of both the office and in the international sphere. The aim is to consolidate the existing team and, in parallel, work to achieve organic growth and recruit new partners to the firm. This must always be done with the best interests of our clients in mind and respecting the core values of commitment, trust and partnership that are at the heart of our firm”.
The new Co-Director says that this new challenge is also the consolidation of a project she started more than 10 years ago and in which she has always felt the trust placed in her by her partners, a trust that she thanks both the founders, Francisco Lacasa and Leonardo Cardenas, and the CEO Jordi Rovira and the other partners, especially the partners in Madrid who now welcome and accompany her in this new professional challenge.
“Personally, it is a challenge and a boost to my professional career. My new position will enable me to fully develop the strategies of a group like AGM, which is immersed in a process of digital transformation with the aim of being a benchmark for innovation in the Spanish legal market. My commitment to this project is complete as I believe it will provide a better-quality service for our clients while, at the same time, make our teams work more efficiently and, therefore, be happier”.
María Eugenia, as a partner of the Immigration and Mobility area, has an empathetic and approachable team that understands the challenge of starting an enterprise or moving to a new country and, therefore, accompanies clients throughout the entire migratory process with the aim of providing peace of mind and security and relieving them of the bureaucratic burdens. That international client service vocation extends to the rest of the firm, so that the clients, both those who settle in Spain and those who expand from Spain to other places, trust AGM Abogados as their comprehensive legal reference.
